Abstract

This essay is about considering and explaining the symbolic world of rice. The new changes and advances that are related to the rice exploitation are the elements that explain this new situation. How to cultivate rice doesn’t only belongs to the Valencian culture where it comes from. The clash between the Andalusian representation and the Valencian one lead to a process of cultural hybridization, which overcomes the previous symbolic clash. In addition, I also include some references at world level in which rice is the most important element.
