Los Surára consideran como Ser supremo y paraíso de los muertos a la luna, a la que imaginan de doble sexo. Como intermediarios entre la luna y los hombres existen los Hekurá (espíritus gigantes de animales y plantas) que viven en las montañas, invocados por los hombres en estado de embriaguez. En la ceremonia fúnebre el cuerpo del difunto que yace sobre la copa de un árbol es quemado junto con este. Acto seguido se bebe la ceniza de los huesos. El alma sube con el humo a la luna, retornando a la tierra en forma de gota de sangre, que al atravesar las nubes se convierte en gota de lluvia. Los hombres tienen el pene atado con una cinta hacia arriba, debido a que el prepucio sirve de embudo receptor, llegando el alma al cuerpo de la mujer por medio del acto sexual.Downloads
