El "Vase of the fire-breathing Jaguar" constituye el primer testimonio concreto de tiempos prehispánicos del antiguo arte de la escritura de los quiché. El protagonista I es interpretado c o m o Tohil, el que produce el fuego; el protagonista II, como Balamquitze, uno de los primeros padres de los quiché, que requiere este fuego. Se señalan, además, otras correspondencias iconográfico-jeroglíficas con la mitología de los quiché.Downloads
