Universo andino en el siglo XVI: Detrás de los nombres personales quechua

En el presente trabajo se examinan nombres personales quechuas del siglo XVI. La trascendencia social de la designación de nombres ya fue objeto de diversos estudios. Aquí, en cambio, se trata del significado de los nombres propiamente dichos. Predominantemente constituyen denominaciones de plantas, animales y objetos, pero también representan una determinada forma de comprensión del medio ambiente. Los nombres personales quechuas eran específicamente genéricos y solían cambiarse tres veces durante el ciclo vital de un individuo.Downloads
