The terms used by the Aztecs to describe war have received little attention in recent years. The last detailed analysis was made by Walter Lehmann almost hundred years ago. The following contribution tries to provide, in another perspective, some new insights, avoiding the criticless adoptions as well as the ignoring of older explanations. This effort to achieve new results has been based on repeated interpretations of the sources and a critical discussion of the secondary literature.Downloads
