Through the study of the mitote ceremonies celebrated by the Cora people of Western Mexico, I will analyse how reflexivity is expressed in ritual action. I will demonstrate that there is a particular reflexive process involved in this kind of activity that, despite its proximity to the exegetical process, should be considered independently. To show the importance of considering these two processes separately, I will examine the relationship between ritual practice and the use of a series of religious representations.Downloads
