Abstract

This article consists of a thought experiment for the purpose of integrating an Amerindian perspective on cosmology and an indigenous approach to kinship systems. So it sets its sights on mapping, through an experiment with the notion of ‘cosmo/politics’, the movements and connections of both, focusing specifically on themes such as kinship and shamanism as found in different ethnographies of various lowland South American groups and examining how one term, taken as a general model, can surpass another.
