In this paper I discuss the urban distribution and architectural components of the Inca settlement of Huamachuco. I examine the architectural re-composition experienced by the local community during the period of Inca state government. Additionally, I use
the spatiality or third space approach to explain how socio-spatial reorganization occurred, analyzing changes to the local community’s social structures. Through architectural and geographical analysis, as well as re-evaluating the data, it has been determined that the settlement exhibited a more extensive and complex configuration than previously thought.
