Ritual Movements at Archaeological Sites: A Methodological Proposal from Archaeology and Cultural Geography

The study of movement and mobility in archaeological sites, from the movement itself, is one of the guidelines in this paper. Drawing on ideas about movement developed in Archaeology and Cultural Geography, this research aims to understand the dynamism in precolonial settlements. Furthermore, it perceives them as walkable places and an interweaving of lines and nodes. Additionally, walking as part of an archaeological survey is understood as a way to socialise with these places and with those who walked them in the past. These ideas are the basis of a methodological proposal for the study of ritual movement and mobility within archaeological sites.
