Resumo

At the small archaeological site of La Naya there were, originally, several stelae dating to the Early and Late Classic period. The stelae show a regional style related to the Early Classic stone monuments from the site of El Zapote, located only 18 kilometers west of La Naya; the iconographical similarities are particularly evident in the headdresses and costumes. The text on the best preserved monument from La Naya, Stela 1, commemorates dynastic relations to the city of Yaxhá, a Maya center east of La Naya.
