Abstract

El 17 de junio de 2004 la Canning House, el Banco Interamericano de Desarrollo (BID) y la Fundación CIDOB organizaron una conferencia de un día sobre varios aspectos de la seguridad ciudadana en América Latina y Europa. Fue la segunda conferencia realizada sobre esta temática y contó con alrededor de 100 participantes, incluidos los catorce conferencistas que disertaron en cinco mesas: “Seguridad en América Latina y Europa: los desafíos del post-11 de septiembre” (mesa de apertura); “La lucha contra el crimen: ¿Qué pasa en América Latina y Europa?” (mesas I y II); “Crimen organizado, gobernanza y derechos humanos” (mesa III) y, finalmente, “Cooperación global y seguridad en América Latina y Europa” (mesa IV).
