Abstract

Este breve artículo muestra que las Independencias latinoamericanas no desmontaron los tres grandes pilares de la Colonia: la Iglesia, la gran propiedad de la tierra y la sacralización del poder como fenómeno colectivo pero encarnado en la omnipotencia de una persona. Se conservaron así intereses particulares a la vez que grupales e individuales que imposibilitaron la realización de ideales republicanos.
