Viajes, política y patriotismo: un terreno cultural compartido entre España y la Argentina

A finales del siglo xix los viajes ayudaron a consolidar el terreno cultural compartido que se estaba formando entre España y la Argentina. Constituyen un instrumento de análisis privilegiado para comprender la circulación de ideas que dio forma a los tópicos morales compartidos y para dar cuenta de la realidad política, cultura y social a ambas márgenes del Atlántico. En este trabajo se analizan los viajes realizados por tres emigrados españoles –Fernando López Benedito, Rafael Calzada y Francisco Grandmontagne–, y el papel que, a través de la noción de patria, jugaron en la conformación de este terreno.
Abstract
In the late 19th century, travels improved the cultural common ground that was emerging between Argentine and Spain. Travels, as experiences, are a privilege tool for understanding the circulation of ideas between these countries. They shaped sheared moral topics between them and were used to give an account of the political, cultural and social situation. Specifically, this article analyses three Spanish’s emigrates travels –Fernando Lopez Benedito, Rafael Calzada y Francisco Grandmontagne– in particularly the role played by the notion of patria in the consolidation of a common ground.
