Documentary films have been consecrated as essential for the understanding of the15-M movement. They unite the proposals of the movement, which have radically altered the current Spanish political landscape. They also inspect the Spanish democracy as a direct consequence of a democratic transition which has been widely viewed as a failure. This article considers these issues and highlights the importance of the public square, both as a physical space and as a symbol of a desire for a more participatory democracy.
