“Now is Our time”. Youth Activisms in the New Right Wings During the Pandemic (Argentina, 2020-2022)

Abstract

The article analyzes the pandemic context as a framework of political opportunity for the revitalization of youth activism at the core of the right wings in Argentina. The profiles
and reasons to participate built by a group of young activists from AMBA (Buenos Aires
Metropolitan Area) are explored, as well as the repertoire of collective actions, in which the
street demonstrations are combined; the dispute over the political representation of youths and in the promotion of the so-called “cultural battle”. The article shows the way in which slogans, figures and agendas of right wings are produced and updated based on readings of the present of the Kirchnerist governments and the socio-state management measures of the health crisis during the pandemic.
