This paper proposes the hypothesis that Triple Frontera between Paraguay, Brazil and Argentina was a special literary zone and source of languages and subjectivities at critical moments in Paraguayan literature. Because of this, it is possible to think that Paraguayan literature is a literature that counterpoints its process with frameworks that question its national character. According to this, I highlight the following moments of intensification of the dynamics and problems in Paraguayan literature: a) the beginning of the 20th century in the chronicles of Rafael Barrett; b) the emergence of contemporary Paraguayan literature in the mid-20th century; c) the current situation of the frontier in the narrative of Damián Cabrera. Finally, this article points out the need to understand Paraguayan literature from a regional perspective that includes the narratives of the Río de la Plata.
