The following article traces a thirty-year journey through the persecution, punishment, and violence against sexual dissidence in a peripheral province during Franco’s regime, with the intention of shedding light on this process in spaces and chronologies that are still underrepresented in historiography. To this end, we analyse three different jurisdictions that complemented each other with the aim of maintaining a public space as in line as possible with normative Catholic morality. Firstly, the administrative jurisdiction of the governmental authorities. Secondly, the analysis of proceedings brought for public scandal in the ordinary courts. Finally, these data are cross-referenced with those produced by the special jurisdiction of Vagos y Maleantes.
