The aim of this article is to present and initially analyze Carlos Pascual’s play Dragón de sangre (2023), which depicts the massacre of 300 Chinese citizens in the city of Torreón, Coahuila, in 1911, at the dawn of the Mexican Revolution. The play will be succinctly framed within the current Mexican literary context, which has sought to present, denounce, and reflect on this little-known historical event. The purpose is to get a better understanding of some of the historical, social, economic and political circumstances and motivations that led to what is considered the greatest crime against the Asian community in the history of Latin America.
