Abstract
This article sets out to examine a group of images that focused on the capital's bakeries of Porfirian times. The aim is to reconstruct the way in which visual discourse beliefs were elaborated and spread by those who tried to confirm Mexican industrialization. By confronting the peculiarities of this visual web with the productive reality that reigned in most bakeries of the time will allow us to apprehend the complexity of the world of urban production in the late 19th century.
