Compromiso espiritual e independencia creadora. Una moral humanista para la literatura en la revista Sur (1935-1945)

Este artículo presenta una caracterización de la moral literaria dominante en Sur, entre mediados de los años treinta y mediados de los años cuarenta. La pregunta acerca de la función del escritor y del arte en general, de sus relaciones con la sociedad y el poder político domina el interés de los escritores más representativos de Sur en este período. En respuesta a esta pregunta, ellos apelan a un elenco de valores trascendentes encarnados en la persona del autor, que conforma lo aquí llamamos una ‘moral literaria humanista’.
Abstract
This article presents a characterization of the literary moral dominant in Sur, between taken part of the years thirty and taken part of the years forty. The question about the function of the writer and of the art in general, of his relations with the society and the political power dominates the interest of the most representative writers of the magazine in this period. In answer to this question, they appeal to an elenco of transcendent values embodied in the person of the author, that shape the here I call literary moral humanist.
