Abstract

La historia de la fotografía moderna y la del psicoanálisis en Argentina están estrechamente vinculadas con los nombres de dos mujeres que se refugiaron en las orillas del Río de la Plata durante el tiempo del nacional-socialismo: Grete Stern (1904-1999) y Marie Langer (1910-1987). Ambas se encontraban en los comienzos de sus carreras cuando se vieron forzadas a abandonar sus países natales. Habían pasado los años decisivos de sus formaciones personales y profesionales en la época de la entreguerra, cuando las ciudades de Berlín y Viena constituían laboratorios de la modernidad, entornos estimulantes para el desarrollo de las artes, las ciencias y los estilos de vidas diferentes.
