Abstract
From 1912 the introduction of democracy in Argentine resulted in the gradual displacement of the traditional conservative elites by the radicals, their main antagonists. This paper examines the construction of a widespread image of radicalism made by two conservative porteño newspapers, La Mañana and La Fronda, in that experience context.
