Abstract
One characteristic of Rulfo’s prose is a laconism that allows to construct characters with brushstrokes that take advantage of potential evocative language; they eliminate digressions and omit descriptions. In Rulfo the feminine characters exceed the stereotypes of virgin or mother and are installed in the center of short stories. Even without a voice, they trigger the action of several stories, are definitive in the resolution of conflicts, favor the lyric splendor of the narrator, and radiate a vitality marked by signs of physical beauty, eroticism and tenderness.
