Se ofrece una visión general de los medios utilizados por los españoles en la capital de audiencia Quito para crear, mediante un tipo determinado de educación impartida a los futuros ocupantes de puestos de relevancia en la "república de los indios", un estrato intermedio sumiso, adicto a ellos y a su modelo sociocultural. Para tal efecto se han utilizado materiales procedentes de la publicación de documentos y datos dispersos en la literatura secundaria sobre la educación de los hijos de la élite indígena quiteña de los primeros tiempos de la colonia.Downloads
