The O'dam do not separate the dream world from the realm of reality. The Southern Tepehuan, as they are commonly known, consider experience in dreams as similar to life experienced awake. Oniric images inform about the past, the present and the future. Often, dreams announce imminent danger, and only the shaman is able to decipher the dream’s message. The dreams trigger a reflexive process through which people can see themselves from another perspective and thus come to understand the origin and solution encoded in the images.Downloads
